Wake County Libraries Book Sale: One Of The State’s Biggest Sales

Since I was a student out Wake County way many moons ago, I discovered the Wake County Libraries Book Sale and it’s been something I have looked forward to every year since.  Now, I realize Raleigh is a good drive from Buncombe County, but this is one of the state’s biggest library sales and there are numerous books and categories to choose from. Today (May 2nd) is the first day of the 2019 book sale and there are three days remaining for anyone in the Raleigh area (or willing to make the trip).  Also, there are discounts each day that can make the books more affordable as we go through…

N.C. State University Library Book Sale Starts April 8th!

I attended N.C. State University so I am biased about the universities in this state and I keep tabs on my alma mater.  One of the events I enjoyed when I was in school was the Library Sale that takes place each year in the NCSU Brickyard. Sadly, the event has already taken place, I…

The 2019 North Carolina Book Festival Comes to Raleigh

Booklovers have the opportunity to converge on the capital this weekend with the N.C. Book Festival running February 21st through the 24.  Practitioners of poetry and pose will gather for meet-and-greets, readings, panel discussions, and “conversations” with authors ranging from North Carolina natives to notables from around the country.  This event isn’t just centralized like last time Raleigh hosted a book festival but will be at multiple locations. These locations, which can be found here (https://ncbookfestival.com/schedule/), take you to different areas in downtown Raleigh, and will allow visitors to not only explore the city a bit but the events themselves will bring you to or near museums, book stores,  NCSU’s…
